You know how it is when you are bored at home, lazying around the place… Passing the time by watching television, listening to music, reading a book, sleeping in, pigging out, watching your pet fish (if you have some) swim back and forth in their tank?
Well, what happens when you put 7 bored dancers and 3 bored musicians together?
Toss into the equation, a tanker-full of creative juices, bundles of tape, time and sweat…
And you get Project Sexycats!

The put it very succinctly: 7 dancers, 3 musicians, 1 video.
A collaboration between the Sunset Alley Cats, a street dance group, and the Sexies (aka the band, who claim music to be their underwears).

Yes. they REALLY film in their underwear. classy eh?
Read more about their own introduction here!
Well, that started off as one video has snowballed into something a bit more than that…
For when you are bored, need a break and good laugh, watch these!!

It’s official. The nondescript wood and vanguard structure procured from Ikea is slowly but surely unleashing its inhabitants into no man’s land. Such behaviour is totally uncalled for and Jo has declared war against the wardrobe.

I am seeking to oust up to 50% of the offending party because they have not served me well.
That said.
OMG! WHEN DID MY WARDROBE BECOME LIKE THAT? I never knew, or never could visualize an “overflowing wardrobe” till today. Desperate measure are to be taken.
Please tell me that your wardrobe looks like that too. And that you have given up on folding your clothes.. It’s er… normal right?
Crisis! Must detox.
Anyway, Sarah and I will most probably be taking part in FLEA TITAN III next Monday, courtesy of my sistaz who got major lobang for uz coz she’s in da hood. I don’t quite get what I just said.
Also, fashion week makes me fashion weak. I haven’t had time to pay attention to it.
Also, GO BACK UP ALL YOUR FILES NOW. My computer crashed and no amount of money can redeem my massive amount of pictures and music because the data recovery centre just rendered all my data “TOTALLY UNCOVERABLE”. I don’t believe there’s such a thing. I’m sure if I were a criminal they’d get it back.
Cheers.

Remember Tamagochis?
Those tiny toy-things where you could raise and take care of an electronic pet. Feed it, play with it and clean up after it. Find out one day that it unexpectedly dies and simply re-hatch it and repeat the process?
I remember when tamagochis were all the rage.
Some kids brought them to school to show off. Other kids, myself included, oogled at kids showing off. Feelings of jealousy and envy are not healthy at the tender age of 9 and 10.
I also remember the school banning them within the week that they hit the market cos theft cases shot through the roof. :/
Then along came to likes of cheap(er) imitations and variations as well as alternatives like the Digimon series..
Well, I have to say that its a very tamagochi-esque feeling…
Waiting and watching and tending to an egg as it hatches into some mysterious creature of origins unknown.

This time, its not happening in the virtual world

It is beyond me how they get a seed embedded in an egg shell. But I’m so thoroughly amused!

And when I asked Melissa what type of plant it was, she said she wasn’t sure herself.
Whats life without surprises eh?!

I got home and immediately got to ‘hatching’ my ecoegg.

The step-by-step instructions at the back of the box are quite straightforward and idiot-proof.

As the days go by…
Camera battery and failing memory permitting, I’ll update regularly on my ‘Tamagochi’s growth.
Today, its first 2 leaves spouted! (:
More photos soon.

Let me formally introduce you to Jooks.

Don’t be fooled by their pseudo PAP veneer (although that was my parents’ first reactions. hahas)
Let me try to set it up for you.
a. People (assumingly, Singaporeans) backpacked through Spain
b. Crossed paths with casual, comfy shoes called Espadrilles.
c. Loved them so much they were compelled to share the love.
d. Came back to Singapore, pooled resources together to facilitate love-sharing (and money-making!)
So, mathematically:
a. + b. + c. + d. = Jooks!

So these are what Jook’s Espadrilles look like. Although I highly doubt there is much variation… made of jute rope and canvas, these are like non-waterproof slipper substitutes.
Yes. On my second day of wearing them, I got rained in on ))):
They make a great travel companion, storing quite flat. Especially in comparison with other shoes.

They fold away to the thickness of the soles, which is approximately 1.5cm tops.
And if the earthiness of my Lightbrown Eyes don’t float your boat, you can always order them in wacky colours like Gang Green, Blue Balls, Coral Sex or Red Indian! hahas.
My favourite?
And till Friday, you can get them at $18 a pop. Instead of the dreary ol’ usual price of $25.90…

Wore them to school on Monday.. (So excuse the tired, deer-in-headlights, expressionless face… 7 hours of class does that to me.)
Graphic t-Shirt: originally had a White tank top… but experienced a ‘Mustard Moment’ :/ it was highlighter-yellow!!!, I had to change my top and this was the only spare.
Jacket with detachable badges: Uniqlo
Slouchy linen pants, cuffed: Giordano
Striped bag: gift from Mom
Shoes: Jooks
