I was looking through some old photographs and dug up these photos of a shoot I did with my friend, Steph.

Taken in the central business district on a Sunday morning. Raffles Place was very quiet, which all worked out since Steph needed the backgrounds to be un-busy. That was the fundamental criteria that her professor demanded for this photo series assignment.
These were taken pre-Wottoncool days, early early in 2008, and the strongest memory was that out of the blue (sky) it rained!
There! Proof! hahas. (:
The weather was very erratic that day and we kept praying that the heavens wouldn’t open up repeatedly and get in the way of shooting. Cos even when the weather was better, the sun would frequently hide behind the clouds and affect the light. (I don’t know how to describe it in photography lingo, so I shan’t try)
And, it you can’t already tell, there was no budget for the shoot. I was the model + helper + stylist + wardrobe. Steph doubled as creative director + makeup artist + hair stylist + photographer + wardrobe.

In this shoot, I’m wearing
Black dress – Steph’s
Khaki Trenchcoat – G2000, which I should wear more!
Sunglasses – Armani
Watch – Casio
Red embossed Wallet – Catherine Manuell
Black Slingbacks – (i can’t remember which) fleamarket

Pedder Red has a a new collaboration with Wyman Wong, a multi-tasking celeb (of sorts?) from Hong Kong.
He created a tantalising five-piece collection inspired by the tailoring and work of fashion designers such as Martin Margiela, Christophe Decarin, and Yves Saint Laurent, and you’ll see why in the pictures.

Biker chains and mini dress for Christophe (Balmainia, Balmainia, Balmainia), and a poufy sweetheart tiered dress for Oscar.
How adorable, how adorable, HOW ADORABLE ARE THESE?

No prizes for guessing, this is Yves. The tuxedo at the back actually has two heels so that the trousers work better, and the flappy collar, lapel and bow-tie looks like a pretty bow at the back of the shoe from far.

Martin – The one with the mannequin on spindly legs is just pure sechzzzzz. So hawt!
My boyfriend was there with me in Pedder Red over the weekend to give his opinion and help me decide – but to no avail. When I saw the pictures, Yves was mine. But when I tried Martin on, I was torn.
Martin or Yves? Tough choice innit? Help me decide!

Outfit photo!
Realise I haven’t posted an outfit photo in awhile.
This was at a celebration dinner held in school. It was a closure for events organized over summer. The school even gave out certificates to thank us for our participation.
And the food was AWESOME!!! (:

Metallic silver tank – nicholas
Multi-coloured wrap pants – from Thailand
Chain Necklace – from mom
The pants are really comfortable but long, so walking up the stairs I have to be careful not to trip :/ hahas

I’m trying to do the pervy just-say-a-6-pack-on-legs-with-a-totally-cute-face-walk-past hel-lo!
Can you tell?
Anyway, it’s because I’m welcoming this pair of Alaia’s to partake in my communion of height-enhancing footwear. And I won them on eBay at USD99 + 30 (shipping), with no other bidders.
No other bidders. Are you guys crazy or what?

My other Alaia is was a suede belt, bought for a dollar, with a price tag of $790, that now belongs to Sarah.
Okay now make a beeline to oogle at my shoes. I secretly hope everyone’s jealous ahhahahah. Hope they fit! (:

As project deadlines, presentations and examinations loom closer and closer, I find myself becoming more easily distracted. And as a third-year business student, I find myself losing steam and facing increasing difficulty drawing strength and motivation from whatever high powers to stop procrastinating and getting my work done. hahas!
For a larger part of these past 2 months, after reading ‘The Starbucks Experience’, I’ve become brainwashed and willing to spend up to $7 on a cup of coffee.

And yet reluctant to spend $4 on a proper meal. wth? right?!
Also, ONLINE SHOPPING!! who can forget that?!

Add i-xclusive to your list of online shops.
I got this Peach Crystal Racerback Tank cos I’ve been looking for something (else) to match my Zambesi alibaba pants which you can see here!
Their wares are sourced from the nearby region and not only do they sell to normal people like you and me. They also do wholesale business, selling to other online shops.
Cut out the middleman! Buy direct from the source!!! hahas.
I like how their stuff is basic but with a twist. Not as commercial and mass market as some other online stores, but still with its own appeal.
Mai dong xi, he dong xi!

Last I measured (which was quite some time ago) my height was a decent 171cm. Slightly above average, there isn’t much need (for both vertically and practicality’s sake) to be wearing heels.
But that has never stopped my love and appreciation for beautiful shoes, especially the high-heeled sorts… It’s either 3inches and above or nothing. Painful as it may potentially be, I really love the arch created and how it elongates.
Friends sometimes ask how I can walk in 4-inch heels the whole day. And why I’d subject myself to such pain and torture and inconvenience (balancing on the bus in 4-inch heels, with bulky bag and laptop in hand is a skill yo!)
But as if 4 inch heels aren’t scary enough.
Meet Burberry’s AW09 Shoes
Burberry AW09 Lace-up Platform Sandals
According to Burberry, these shoes have a towering 18cm heel! Can you imagine being almost 20cm taller?! WOAH! Crazily insane but pure LOVE. Pure 7inches of LOVE!

Burberry AW09 Braided Platform Sandals
There is something very understated yet lustable about this leather strap detailing, wood platform and rubber sole combination. Fierce and feminine and yet not over-the-top blinged out.
And usually, when I think of wedge platforms, my first point of recall is the images of scarring ah-lian footwear – wedge platform foam slippers.*shudders*
Burberry AW09 Suede Wedge Ankle Boots
On contrary however, I’m really digging these suede wedge ankle boots. Understated cool. I’d wear these in a heartbeat!
And if finances permitted (which is so totally NOT going to happen), this is how I’d wear it.

October has been a running month.

The first two weekends were spent at Bukit Gombak stadium for IVP (Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic) Track and Field Competition. My events were in 400m and 200m. Little training. No experience. Scariest 30-40seconds of my life!

Glamourous eh?
One of our attempts at a proper group photo
Races are over! Didn’t win anything, wasn’t expecting to either!

Then, yesterday morning I jumped out of bed at the unearthly hour of 6.15am. I had set my alarm for 5.30am and obviously did not hear it. hahas
Thank you Edwin for the wakeup call.
And this unearthly waking was for the Nike Human Race.

I not-so-recently adopted a new mission in life, and that was to find the perfect pair of jeans, the perfect white shirt, the use and abuse leather bag, the perfect watch, the all-purpose sunnies and, OH WAIT THAT’S LIKE FIVE THOUSAND MISSIONS.
Well, on the top of the list – JEANS! I’ve loved (a little too much) a pair of jeans from River Island and Uniqlo, and I’m ready to shell out some moolah on some designer jeans. I’ve done time fitting in Evisu, Seven for all Mankind, Sass & Bide, and some other cult-cult stuff whose names I can neither pronounce nor remember, but no, there were no super stunning designs or leg-lengthening/bum-lifting fits that made me want to pull out $500-600 dollars for glorified denim.
On my imaginary tai-tai day around Orchard Road one afternoon, I went into the house of checks and trenches and zomg jeans!!

I never knew Burberry sold jeans in its Brit line, and really wicked fitting ones at that. No cheesy monogram when you turn up the hem, no flashy 3yo-drawing-of-bird looking thing on your bum (lol), no fugly stitching trying to pass off as cool.

My fave is this pair, really skinny and very washed down the front, with huge zips at the ankle. I usually don’t like anything with a wash, but somehow I find this irresistable. Just like the man behind the brand. Nom nom.
Sturdy, not flashy, and it fits like a gloveeee. The great thing is that it’s just slightlyyyy under $500. Hello!
BTW, have you visited the store in ION? I love all of the interiors, and that they always use fresh eucalyptus – my fave um, foliage?

Here’s what we did today.

The most artistic we’ve been in like… 500 years. Zomg so sadz. We crosshatched like mad in half an hour.
PURR MEOW!! Let’s play a game of, what sports fashion brand sounds like these onomatopoeia? (Shiz, I haven’t used this word since Sec 2!)
Sadly our drawings obscured our outfits.. so er… no outfit pictures yet!
