Sorry for the very un-creative title. It is an unearthly hour. I’m still up. Had a long day. Ought to be sleeping, but not yet. And I have a mountain of things to do tomorrow.
Whats new?
hahas.
Had to pick up a present from Ferragamo on Thursday, so dressed up a bit.

Checked dress from Salvation Army, trench coat from G2000, flats with bow detail from Forever 21, bangles from mom and Cambodia.
Realised that its not that bad wearing a trench, although only in the very sunny but yet completely air-conditioned interiors of Singapore.
And completely on a whim, I decided to paint my nails green!

Colour in the photo is not remotely accurate but yeappers. Have been getting a lot of comments about the colour.
One friend thought I smudged the polish onto a sandwich cos the lettuce was the same shade.
Another said it reminded him of Poison Ivy, Uma Thurman’ s character in Batman.
I’ve already thought of the next colour. (:

ok. night. bye. sleep. zzz

Please excuse the headlessness of this recent spate of photos.
I’ve decided that my hair needs re-cutting. My hair lost its shape almost immediately after leaving the salon. And after pouring over old photos, thanks to Facebook (!), I am set on getting a cleaner, sharper bob versus my current limbo length, it-should-never-have-a-name-to-describe-it do.
However, despite the desperate need to schedule a revisit, there hasn’t yet been an opportunity to pencil in a convenient slot to get this To-Do out of the way.
Thus,
the headlessness.
However, the blogging must continue!

On what ought-to-have-been a lazy Sunday, I had a 2 meetings in school, the latter of which lasted 6hours!
That day, I wore a black sleeveless blouse with panels, sample piece by Nicholas, suede waist belt with ribbon details by Alaia, blue cotton drop crotch pants from Cambodia (wish I bought a pair in every colour!), sequinned flats from Forever21, bracelets from Cambodia and Perth.
From my initial outwardly declaration of severe distaste towards drop-crotch pants (here), to festered interest, to some experimentation and now this.
And I’m making a very deliberate attempt to wear makeup more frequently – more specifically, eyeliner. I hope to slowly graduate to take on mascara as well. But first, baby steps. Now, if only I could stop it from smudging so much!! ):

Dear Blogging Gods,
I wish and hope with all my heart that one day, when I’ve paid my dues, slogged my butt off and earned the stripes, to be physically present at a Chanel show, even if I’m I wallflower in the room, without a seat, beside the door, partially blocked by curtains, bright lights and hoity-toity’s beehive dos.
May the gods grant me 7 pairs of eyeballs (!) to take in all the details that Mr Karl Lagerfeld has prepared for us!

Not forgetting, may the gods also grant me the neuro capacity to comprehend some degree of understanding of the workmanship involved, only so I can appreciate the other-worldly creations sent down the runway even more!
Digging the detailing of the rosette dress, glittered leggings and pearl details on the shoes

But this pastel blue suit is my favourite <3!
Its like a fitted and updated version of the over-sized, extra-long, shoulder-padded hand-me-down from my mom. Love the metallic belt cinching the waist to create the hourglass silhouette.
Whats more?! It’s paired with shorts!

Didn’t realize till I uploaded the image. Hehes
Love it MORE now!
And besides all the details put into each couture piece in this Spring/Summer 2010 collection, the hair is a very distinctive part of the look.

Somehow I imagine that by mixing Minnie Mouse, Cruella De Vil, Tavi Gevinson, Amy Winehouse and Princess Leia in some funky yet subdued endothermic reaction, one would be able to produce such a result. Hahas.

Don’t you agree?
Looking at the photos and I’m already on the verge of tearing cos there is soo much to see from every angle, I might just die if I was at a show. Please Blogging God, grant my wish. Not the dying part. The Chanel show part. Just to be clear.
And some backstage candid/beauty/sitting around shots for your oogling pleasure (:

If you are crushing feminine bohemian-romantic vibe and have been stuffing your closet to beyond it’s brim, rejoice!

Instead of trawling through fleas and bazaars for pre-loved, vintage and vintage-inspired wares, Individual Expressions is available at the very commercial and accessible Tangs.

Though not a big fan of the styling of this collection, some of the pieces do ooze potential. The press kit mentions little about the price but emphasizes the collection’s availability in Japan, Thailand, Portugal, France, Ireland, Turkey, Spain and not forgetting our sunny island as well.

If you ever pop by Tangs, let me know your thoughts. Have yet to see them up close.

And I give the stylist extra points for the socks. Love them! (:

As if the obvious is not sufficiently clear: the blog has been kinda VERY dead this past month.
Sorry.
You know how it is… projects, deadlines, exhaustion, lack of willpower to actively source for juicy morsels of content to digest and give our wottoncool spin on for your reading and viewing pleasure.
There are (many) days when as much as I am so guilt-ridden to post an update, even a short one, just to let you know that I’m alive. But I stop myself cos its not fair to cough out a half-baked post for the sake of updating.
So a very sincere sorry for this dry spell.
(and with the current workloads we have – Jo is finishing her last term in school and I currently hold a prominent position in the students’ association – may I forewarn you that this update drought may be reflective of our post frequency for the year ahead. And I promise to not let this happen!!!)
Because of the busy schedule, overarching wardrobe themes have been skewed towards the casual side of things…
Forever21 ballet flats, drop-crotch cotton pants from Cambodia and run-of-the-mill shirt&skirt combos and worse still, the fits-any-dresscode-from-beggar casual-to-smart casual-to-semiformal denim! have been my drug of choice during this extremely exasperating, tiring, long and overloaded month.
But as I accustom myself to the workload AND as it tapers off to a more manageable load, yesterday presented an opportunity to layer-up.
What was this opportunity you ask?
Well…
It rained.
(:
Yes. Any excuse to dress up is a valid one. At least, it should be.
Yesterday, I was required to meet some bigwigs and conduct a presentation, thus the more formal getup. And just as I was about to leave the house, the sky turned a menacing grey and you could sense rain.
Not wanting my crisp white shirt to turn sheer, the trench was summoned.

White Shirt with front pleat from Jill Sander for Uniqlo (+J), High Waist Belt with ribbon detailing from Alaia, Multi-pleat skinny pant from Abyzz by Desmond Yang, Trenchcoat from G2000, Chain necklace worn as bracelet from Forever New in Perth, Owl Ring from Forever21 (gift from friend), Gemstone Ring from tourist shop in Jordan.

Thats all for now, hang tight.
There is more to come.
and Thank you for sticking with us through our blogging drought! <3

Reckless Ericka will be having a week-long pop-up store at Stamford House. (yay! its near school:D)
Starting 7 January, troop down and be a proud owner of Reckless Ericka or SS2010 Elohim by Sabrina Goh collections.

According to the website, it also says that older collections will be going at special rates.
I can only hope that that is synonymous with affordable :/
Really lusting this mint-nude-dust tank and leggings combo. But I shall oogle from afar because I don’t have $328 spare to drop at this whim and fancy.
sigh.
Anyway, I’ll be at the Store Launch at 7.30pm on 7 January. Hope to see you there!
okthanksbacktowork!
