More than a pretty face

Casio’s latest G-Shock X-Large Vivid Colour Combi series makes not apologies for it’s size and audaciously bold and brazen exterior.
And although I’m not jumping out of my seat to call this my latest wrist candy, I am very intrigued by the combination of analog and digital functions that give the watch face a lot of depth.

Think if I had such a massive watch, it would feel as though I’m looking mid-way through my arm in order to tell the time.

The solid aqua blue is my favourite though. Too many colours make me dizzy.

Wottoncool @ The Magnum Gold?! Party

The Magnum Gold?! Party was set against a near 360-degree view of the Singapore skyline.

From the deck of the Fullerton Waterboat House, we could get a clear view of everything from the Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, Integrated Resort, One Fullerton, Fullerton Hotel and a bit of the CBD.

I brought along my friend, Geri, who was curious to try the Gold?! ice cream and  upon arrival, we were each issued a passport and ticket.

Before being arrested and having our mugshots taken!

Plus points! for the cool party favours. (although, there IS more to come!)

The party space wasn’t very big and there was no mention of it being outdoors (!)

Having come straight from work, I was lugging my massive computer, charger and other non-party-essentials so Geri and I left to deposit our stuff at a secret location (aka school!) – very conveniently situated and very safe.

By the time we got back, the party space had filled out and it was a lot more difficult to get the attention of the servers walking around with drinks. But that being said, they were very efficient.

Anyway, after talking to Laila, Dinie for about 20 minutes, the programmes for the evening commenced.

There was a re-enactment of the great gold heist. Complete with drugged and out-cold guards and unlocking of a safe.

The emcee’s shoes were really pretty, yes?(:

And before dinner commenced, they had to serve the star bar, Magnum Gold?! ice cream that really came in a gold bar-shaped box.

(There was more substantial food served but I didn’t take nice photos. These were the desserts)

We spent a lot of time chatting with Sandra (thank you for the invite!) and before we left, she gave us each a luggage tag stitched in the shape of a Magnum Gold?! ice cream. Embossed and all. cute!

The Alchemist

Love her or hate her, Kate Moss has the divine skill of alchemy. Everything she touches turns to gold.

Ms Moss has collaborated with Topshop again and I’m quite sure its gonna be another home run. (WingTai read: KA-CHIING!!!)

These two pieces, the maxi dress and long sleeve knit top, are my favourite. Which is in such stark contrast to the knickers sets that kept appearing throughout the product range images.

Not that they are bad or anything. Like I found these 2 sets quite cute too.

I hope a substantial range comes to our sunny island (in time for the GSS :D )

Crave a Calendar

Following the success of UNIQLOCK

Which, by the way, is VERY distracting to have on your friend’s screensaver when you are trying your backside’s best to pay attention to a lecture.

Don’t you agree? :D So intriguingly, mind-numbingly addictive.

Now Uniqlo, an innovation forerunner brings to you the Uniqlo Calendar.

The Uniqlo Calendar comprises three elements – seasonal images, music and, of course, Uniqlo merchandise.

Its a very interesting concept and if there was something for my blackberry, I’d give it a shot. But since I do not have. Boohoo ):

Anyway…

You can download it onto your computer, iPhone (which I do not have), blog and facebook.

Click.Click!

PS. Remember to set your location to Singapore!

Yet another scrumptious spread at JTG with some of the bloggers. Their cheese platter with truffle honey is perhaps the second-closest thing to heaven, next to their gimme-another-10-slices-please! carrot cake love.

Beastly Bloodlust

Based out of L.A., Le Sang Des Betes literally translates to The Blood of Beasts.

With a Fine Arts degree in sculpture from the Otis College of Art and Design and having dabbled in film, architecture and costume design, it comes as little surprise that designer Trang Chau’s work sculpts to the female form with great ease.

Dark influence comes in form of gothic and modern architecture as well as films by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and David Cronenberg.

I love how this marbled fabric so aptly captures the essence of a thunderstorm. With bolts of lightning flashing across the sky.

And then there are these, what I suspect are, multi-wear pieces in softer, more delicate fabrics.

How can you not love?

Especially this dress with yellow trim. The bottom hem can be ruched at the neckline for a playful mini dress. Or pulled at the waist for a perfect Saturday brunch with the girls. I.WANT.PLS.THKS. (:
