As October comes to a close, I thought it’d be fitting to share that in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I’ve been carrying around this bag, courtesy of Tangs.
And whether or not you participated in the suggestive ‘I like it on’ Campaign on Facebook that generated oodles of buzz, buzz, buzz…
I’d like to say to all Wottoncool readers:
Darlings, please be informed, check yourselves, or get checked.
Boys, please support/encourage your partners
and don’t think you are exempt, 1% of breast cancer occurs in males.

Flip flops are almost always regarded as a fashion no-no, and been hotly debated as one of the key factors that makes us Singaporeans look sloppy. (FYI, it’s the weather, not us.)
Still, they’re making their rounds around the island, because hey! We’re an island, the heat is unbearable, what are you gonna do if it suddenly rains and don’t wanna ruin your other shoes, you totally need it when you get a pedicure (like I did yesterday!!!
) and maybe sometimes people spontaneously decide to go to the beach. Hmm.
Really, as long as your flip flops aren’t making the flip-flopping sounds or isn’t paired with your pyjamas and going around town, I’m pretty alright with it.
From a survey of 12-42 year-olds last week, using nothing but keen observation, the rubber of choice for most male and female alike, are Havaianas – the Brazilian footwear maker with a secret rubber recipe.
Now if you need some extra street cred, their slim sling-back slipper, ‘Fit’, got a collaboration with locally born and bred label, alldressedup. It comes in the usual black and white, but also a pretty light gold sand and silver colour, together with an alldressedup drawstring bag. And then there are also some signature knotted leather accessories by the brand which I have yet to get my hands on after all these years.
Available at S$69.90 from alldressedup stores from tomorrow.

Aranzi World Caravan made a short stop-over on our sunny island earlier this month.

Jo and I had the privilege of meeting the characters lovingly birthed by Mrs Saito and have been shamelessly slapped onto just about any product you can think of and then some. The cutest lifestyle products surrounded us on the top level of the Parco showcase area and needless to say, we fell madly in love with many of the designs, prints and products…
One example is their flying panda purse! You like?

If you want to own some Aranzi-goodness… STAY TUNED!

What do you wear out to run errands? I’ve been running more errands lately as my newly-graduated/unemployed self. I’d like to think self-employed because I’ve been helping out at my mum’s florist, but who am I kidding.
Sarah wore a cute all-over hear-print tank top to a Swatch event that left me like this –> ♥.♥

With the deepest cherry red nail polish that I’ve ever seen and her cute wood watch.
Apart from running errands, I’ve also been trying to grow out my unruly hair and putting on the pounds. The latter is, unfortunately, an on-going accident, not an attempt.
I carry this gunny-sack (recycled billboard) bag wherever I go because I carry a millionnnn things wherever I go. I ought to take a close-up of the pair of shorts I’m wearing. I got it at COS in Berlin and it has the nicest details on the side.
Here’s hoping we look semi-decent while (purposefully) gallivanting around town, and that your mid-week is going fine!

Thought I’d just share these event photos that were given to us. The next few weeks are kind of crazy with project deadlines upon me and plans for WC kicking up a notch. Crazy busy AND Crazy excited for everything that’s coming. (:
Hope your weeks aren’t as crazy too. And if they are…
HANG IN THERE!!!

There’s now even less reason to not be in the know of the latest fashion trends happening the world over. Last week, Style Magazine (Singapore) held an intimate party at Ion Orchard to launch their very own iPad app, a first for the Singapore fashion magazine scene.

The app itself was rather intuitive and had some interesting quirks with regards to it’s scroll function and flip-through pages. All in all, it’s a quick and easy (but watered down) version of the physical glossies.
Naturally, iPads frosted the event space and these fleeting opportunities to toggle with them further fuels my desire to own one of these babies. But alas, my plain pockets are not sufficiently deep enough to appease this desire.

It’s always interesting to see how designers take new materials and produce beautiful and unexpected things with them. L’ile aux Ashby is one such example…

Taking soft, delicate sheer fabrics… this latest series, on display at Parco, are woven together to produce a most delectable textured effects. I’m drawn to the delicacy of this series and surprisingly am not bothered much by it’s size.

Certainly a statement piece if I saw any. (:

After looking through the multitude of images from Style.com, I realize there are a lot of conflicting trends… But to avoid too much confusion, keep colours simple, go back to basics and, instead, play it up with fabrics and textures to add some snazz with our SS2011 Trending #5 – Sheer.

Valentino
Personally, I think I like a bit of peek-a-boo colour popping out from the sheer… Like layering white lace with a black top to see the contrast. But the layering of sheer fabrics creates an interesting effect.

Chloe
And for next year, prepare to swish, swash and turn heads with the next trend that made it’s presence known in a big way was Trend #6 – Ruffles

John Galliano
I probably won’t take it to these extremes. And personally, I’ve not been big on ruffles to begin with. Then again, it may be the perfect opportunity to give it a shot (:

Alexander McQueen
And to wrap off, I end the post with things that don’t fall into any particular trend but I simply LOVE!

I think we got Uncle Karl to thank for this one.
After sending down sasquatch-esque fuzz-covered models down Chanel runways earlier this year… The material has been slapped onto dozens of designs from bags to shoes to hats to coats.

Rachel (above) and Abbey Lee Kerkshaw (below) show us how to pull off the fuzz jacket. And I am TOTALLY crushing their styles.
But like I mentioned to Jo over beers the other night, pretty as this trend is. I feel kinda sad for the poor animal that became a coat. /:
If it’s synthetic, by all means!

The last time I sat up and thought that my watch ought to function as an accessory too was when Marc Jacobs first released his guitar-shaped watch and a chunky bracelet watch which I have since worn to death.
Now Swatch’s New Gent might be the only other watch that I think can make it into my tightly edited and abused collection of timekeepers.

It looks and feels like it straddles enduring-edgy style with the matte silicon straps, simple, large face and is just almost monochrome. They’ve been styled for everything from sweet to street in the True Colours Competition, by most-watched people in the fashion industry. See some of the amazing entries here.
You now have no excuse to be unfashionable, and late.
These go for S$99 in the Swatch boutiques, or… absolutely nothing if you stay tuned for what we’re preparing for you!
