If you saw me yesterday…

If you saw me in school yesterday…

Other than the fact that my Charles and Keith bag strap spoiled, forcing me to carry it as a tote although I am certain the short handles make my bag heavier :/

And other than the fact that its week 13 (aka last week of school!!!yay!) and my friends could tell I was noticeably happier (:

16346_328362025133_793775133_9638947_2649198_nPhotoboothed in class while there was a presentation going on. oops! :D

Well, so other than these things, if you saw me yesterday…

Picture 060

I was in jeans!

Ok.

So it might not be a big deal to everyone. But it was for me! Hahas. (: I don’t usually wear jeans. Haven’t worn this pair in 3 years. but HAD to wear them for a school presentation.

We had coordinated outfits for the presentation yo!.

I’m thinking of having the length altered so I don’t sweep the floor as I walk and make the fit more straight-cut versus flare and also considering trying some DIY bleaching.

My school term is nearly up!! (;
But it means that exams approach :/

will this work ever end? ):

Remember this?

011457738

It’s like dreams come true and someone Wingardium Leviosa‘d Christopher Bailey to us. Sorta. Kinda.

WOTTONCOOL will be at Burberry ION Orchard, 7pm tonight, to celebrate the opening of their new store! With creative director, Christopher Bailey, no less!

And of course, a stable of international and local celebs. Think we might faint from exposure and being within such close proximity of the ST*RZ. Fash-Eccentric, One Sixty Notepad, Rock The Trend, Bagaholicboy, will yall make sure that we still look glam if we need to be stretchered out of the party? Lol.

What to wear, what to wear! O, decisions.

next-NEXT

It’s a good feeling to be kinda sheltered while you’re still young and growing. And that is what PARCO@MILLENIAWALK’s doing with The Fashion Incubator Programme.

Young and up-and-coming designers with their own labels, but without a strong distribution channel can look forward to becoming part of a 6,000 sq feet Fashion Incubator space, complete with mentorship, business development support and training programme.

This idea was imported from Parco in Japan, and ooohhh, doesn’t it sound like a dream? At least after a lot of hard work.

Mmmm. I often dream about having my own clothing line, or shop, or work with my mum at her florist’s, but I tend to forget that oh, at the end of the day, it’s business, it’s entrepreneurship. (Yes, even though I’m studying business… lol)

IMG_4734

IMG_4730

Here’s Priscilla, formerly from Swirl, but now with her own label, Chalk! – which very much embodies her, if I can say so. Cute as a button (and polka dots) and way sweet. Look out for her and some other designers, because

wottoncool is giving away

FIVE PAIRS OF TICKETS TO THE
next-NEXT DESIGNER OF THE YEAR 2009

which includes a fashion show of the creations by the 25 designers,
happening Friday, 6 November, 7pm.

To win these passes, all you have to do is,
1) Be a friend of us on Facebook,
2) Update your facebook status with, “@Wottoncool Sarah Jo, I wanna go to PARCO@MILLENIAWALK’s next-NEXT Designer of the Year 2009!” ASAP, LIKE, NOW?!?!

If you’re one of the first five who do so, we’ll inform you via a facebook message, so do check!

October rundown

October has been a running month.

10323_171969491467_151672691467_3834598_1961984_n

The first two weekends were spent at Bukit Gombak stadium for IVP (Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic) Track and Field Competition. My events were in 400m and 200m. Little training. No experience. Scariest 30-40seconds of my life!

Then, yesterday morning I jumped out of bed at the unearthly hour of 6.15am. I had set my alarm for 5.30am and obviously did not hear it. hahas

Thank you Edwin for the wakeup call.

And this unearthly waking was for the Nike Human Race.

Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad.

When I was a kid and my older sister was struggling to get through the pains called Literature, my dad bought the audio tapes for Animal Farm to ease the process and pains of ploughing through the book.

The tapes used to put me to sleep in a snap and my biggest memory from listening to those tapes (yes. I had to hear them repeatedly cos my sister fell asleep too) was the pigs (or was it the sheep?) chanting ‘Four Legs Gooood, Two Legs Baaaad’…

Animal_Farm_final_poster_web

Well, the school is staging Animal Farm this weekend at Victoria Theatre and you can get your tickets through Sistic (search for ‘Animal Farm’)

I’ll be attending the Sunday show, coming from Track and Field competition. And as much as possible, I’ll try to come in animal preents, a la Miss Ris Low :D hehes

$1 & $2 Goodness SPAM

Jo and I participated in Flea Titan on a whim and in an attempt to clear our closet plus to get some moolah (for more beautiful things).

Damn the economic crisis.

I was a bit busy and preoccupied to take during and after shots of the flea so I only have before shots to share…

Picture 020

We had some technical difficulty setting up the rack.

But thankfully it held up!

(At the booth next to ours, the rack literally broke! 0.0! and adjacent to our booth, their rack kept swaying :/)

Picture 021

Our table + rack. Fully utilized.

Picture 022

Everything in the bucket/tub went for $1 each. (and there were ppl still trying to bargain and be fussy at $1. seriously?! hahas)

Towards the end, in her bid to not bring home her stuff was giving her stuff away, shouting ‘Free shoes! Free clothes!!!’ and I swear everyone within earshot froze in their tracks and stared at her in disbelief. hahas. it was quite funny.

All in all a fun day… even though food was nightmarishly expensive!

Thank you for supporting Wottoncool’s $1 and $2 goodness! (:

Hello beautiful readers…

Apologies for the absence.

Suffering severely from guilt for the lack of recent updates.

Recently in my personal life, I was going through some rather difficult times. It really affected my motivation to eat and sleeping patterns and had me extremely worried.

And I am eternally grateful to my friends who have been my source of comfort and support through this past month. Its really a ‘wake me up when September ends’ moment.

And a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ also to you, readers, who continue to visit Wottoncool despite our temporary ghostly ways (:

Picture 244

*imagine you are the pillar and me giving you a BIG HUG! :D

hahas.

ok. Onto other news.

In my bid and semi-psychotic want to serve the school, I campaigned to be in the school’s Student Association, SMUSA.

This was my campaign poster…

Sarah Swee for SMUSA

You like? (:

(Photos and wardrobe provided by my friend Steph.)

And after a long drawn (ok, so it was only like 4 days) wait…

I got in!

If you felt the world momentarily become lighter yesterday, that was my happiness-filled heart leaping into the upper stratosphere in celebration :D

If you voted physically or in spirit. Thank you (:
