If you saw me in school yesterday…

Other than the fact that my Charles and Keith bag strap spoiled, forcing me to carry it as a tote although I am certain the short handles make my bag heavier :/

And other than the fact that its week 13 (aka last week of school!!!yay!) and my friends could tell I was noticeably happier (:

16346_328362025133_793775133_9638947_2649198_nPhotoboothed in class while there was a presentation going on. oops! :D

Well, so other than these things, if you saw me yesterday…

Picture 060

I was in jeans!

Ok.

So it might not be a big deal to everyone. But it was for me! Hahas. (: I don’t usually wear jeans. Haven’t worn this pair in 3 years. but HAD to wear them for a school presentation.

We had coordinated outfits for the presentation yo!.

I’m thinking of having the length altered so I don’t sweep the floor as I walk and make the fit more straight-cut versus flare and also considering trying some DIY bleaching.

My school term is nearly up!! (;
But it means that exams approach :/

will this work ever end? ):

I was looking through some old photographs and dug up these photos of a shoot I did with my friend, Steph.

pinkie'sphotos-6

Taken in the central business district on a Sunday morning. Raffles Place was very quiet, which all worked out since Steph needed the backgrounds to be un-busy. That was the fundamental criteria that her professor demanded for this photo series assignment.

These were taken pre-Wottoncool days, early early in 2008, and the strongest memory was that out of the blue (sky) it rained!

IMG_4409There! Proof! hahas. (:

The weather was very erratic that day and we kept praying that the heavens wouldn’t open up repeatedly and get in the way of shooting. Cos even when the weather was better, the sun would frequently hide behind the clouds and affect the light. (I don’t know how to describe it in photography lingo, so I shan’t try)

And, it you can’t already tell, there was no budget for the shoot. I was the model + helper + stylist + wardrobe. Steph doubled as creative director + makeup artist + hair stylist + photographer + wardrobe.

pinkie'sphotos-7

In this shoot, I’m wearing

Black dress – Steph’s
Khaki Trenchcoat – G2000, which I should wear more!
Sunglasses – Armani
Watch – Casio
Red embossed Wallet – Catherine Manuell
Black Slingbacks – (i can’t remember which) fleamarket

Outfit photo!

Realise I haven’t posted an outfit photo in awhile.

This was at a celebration dinner held in school. It was a closure for events organized over summer. The school even gave out certificates to thank us for our participation.

And the food was AWESOME!!! (:

Metallic silver tank – nicholas
Multi-coloured wrap pants – from Thailand
Chain Necklace – from mom

The pants are really comfortable but long, so walking up the stairs I have to be careful not to trip :/ hahas

Distraction Attraction

As project deadlines, presentations and examinations loom closer and closer, I find myself becoming more easily distracted. And as a third-year business student, I find myself losing steam and facing increasing difficulty drawing strength and motivation from whatever high powers to stop procrastinating and getting my work done. hahas!

For a larger part of these past 2 months, after reading ‘The Starbucks Experience’, I’ve become brainwashed and willing to spend up to $7 on a cup of coffee.

Picture 001

And yet reluctant to spend $4 on a proper meal. wth? right?!

Also, ONLINE SHOPPING!! who can forget that?!

Picture 009

Add i-xclusive to your list of online shops.

I got this Peach Crystal Racerback Tank cos I’ve been looking for something (else) to match my Zambesi alibaba pants which you can see here!

Their wares are sourced from the nearby region and not only do they sell to normal people like you and me. They also do wholesale business, selling to other online shops.

Cut out the middleman! Buy direct from the source!!! hahas.

I like how their stuff is basic but with a twist. Not as commercial and mass market as some other online stores, but still with its own appeal.

Mai dong xi, he dong xi!

(Buy something, Drink something!)

October rundown

October has been a running month.

10323_171969491467_151672691467_3834598_1961984_n

The first two weekends were spent at Bukit Gombak stadium for IVP (Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic) Track and Field Competition. My events were in 400m and 200m. Little training. No experience. Scariest 30-40seconds of my life!

Then, yesterday morning I jumped out of bed at the unearthly hour of 6.15am. I had set my alarm for 5.30am and obviously did not hear it. hahas

Thank you Edwin for the wakeup call.

And this unearthly waking was for the Nike Human Race.

The most artistic we’ve been in like… 500 years. Zomg so sadz. We crosshatched like mad in half an hour.

PURR MEOW!! Let’s play a game of, what sports fashion brand sounds like these onomatopoeia? (Shiz, I haven’t used this word since Sec 2!)

Sadly our drawings obscured our outfits.. so er… no outfit pictures yet!

We haven’t exactly been early adopters.

But as they say, ‘better late than never’.

Right?

Wottoncool is now on Facebook and Twitter.

Friend us (sounds so Primary School). Follow us.

Briefly mentioned in my previous post here,

Let me formally introduce you to my notebook-cum-planner-cum-diary-cum-life!

Picture 001

Here are the pages with the New Balance Feral Collection adverts… cut and modified to fit the pages. Doesn’t exactly leave a lot of space for notes but I don’t care. It looks pretty (:

Picture 003

So here is how it starts off…

Picture 004

The notebook has completely blank pages then I measure and mark the corners of the boxes for each day. The boxes are then free-handed… cos rulers are so le-chey (cumbersome).

Picture 013Picture 011

Picture 006Picture 008

Days and dates are added accordingly. And depending on what ‘speaks to me‘ from various magazines, I cut them out and add them to the book for variety and colour! (:

Everyone needs a bit of colour in their life.

Picture 007

Every two pages/weeks or so, I insert a “break” and dedicate a bit more space to things that deserve the space. hahas.

Picture 009Picture 010

And the rest of the space is kept for meetings, assignment due dates, to-do lists, appointments, etc.

You like?

Little, somewhat time-consuming (these things don’t magically cut themselves and become self-adhesive on its own y’knw!) things make me happy. (:

Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad.

When I was a kid and my older sister was struggling to get through the pains called Literature, my dad bought the audio tapes for Animal Farm to ease the process and pains of ploughing through the book.

The tapes used to put me to sleep in a snap and my biggest memory from listening to those tapes (yes. I had to hear them repeatedly cos my sister fell asleep too) was the pigs (or was it the sheep?) chanting ‘Four Legs Gooood, Two Legs Baaaad’…

Animal_Farm_final_poster_web

Well, the school is staging Animal Farm this weekend at Victoria Theatre and you can get your tickets through Sistic (search for ‘Animal Farm’)

I’ll be attending the Sunday show, coming from Track and Field competition. And as much as possible, I’ll try to come in animal preents, a la Miss Ris Low :D hehes
