WOTTONCOOL

$1 & $2 Goodness SPAM

Jo and I participated in Flea Titan on a whim and in an attempt to clear our closet plus to get some moolah (for more beautiful things).

Damn the economic crisis.

I was a bit busy and preoccupied to take during and after shots of the flea so I only have before shots to share…

Picture 020

We had some technical difficulty setting up the rack.

But thankfully it held up!

(At the booth next to ours, the rack literally broke! 0.0! and adjacent to our booth, their rack kept swaying :/)

Picture 021

Our table + rack. Fully utilized.

Picture 022

Everything in the bucket/tub went for $1 each. (and there were ppl still trying to bargain and be fussy at $1. seriously?! hahas)

Towards the end, in her bid to not bring home her stuff was giving her stuff away, shouting ‘Free shoes! Free clothes!!!’ and I swear everyone within earshot froze in their tracks and stared at her in disbelief. hahas. it was quite funny.

All in all a fun day… even though food was nightmarishly expensive!

Thank you for supporting Wottoncool’s $1 and $2 goodness! (:

I grew up thinking Club 21 was literally, a club for 21 year olds and above.. So in line with that ridiculous thought of mine I harboured throughout my secondary school years, I stepped into that awesomeness that is Club 21 in my 21st year of existence. ( No it’s not my birthday yet)

My boyfriend and I lost our Club 21 virginities to the mad bazaar over the weekend. I don’t know why we never made it to the previous one.

Here are some of the things that tried to chat us up, shamelessly assaulted, and clung on to us as we tried to escape the F1 pit unscathed.

(We swear we didn’t do anything! We’re innocent!)

c21(10)

Emporio Armani brocade skirt $150

c21(9)

Giorgio Armani jacket with weird sleeves and jellyfishy front $400?!?!?!
CK Calvin Klein skirt in a lovely fabric but I STUPIDLY DECIDED NOT TO GET $30 WTHWTHWTH!@#(!(@*U$!(@

c21(8)

DKNY Satin Bomber Jacket. Softest. Shiz. Ever. $??

c21(7)

Comme des Garcons gold glitter wool pants $100
They were really cute, but were in a thick sticky wool material that I foresee lots of rashes and discomfort in.

c21(1)

CK Calvin Klein silk jersey dresses $30 wthwthwthwthwhthhhh!!!!! and $20 on the last day. But I decided they didn’t look as nice on me as it would have on a nice skinny person, or without a person wearing it at all haha.

C21(6)

D&G corduroy and leather trim jacket $650. We were hoping it would be further discounted on the last day, but nooooo. Sigh.
D&G double layered wool jacket $650.
He didn’t like the stuff from D&G in general, so he looked very hard to find something he liked from D&G haha.

Y’s white shirt with side vents $180

Here’s what went home with us:

c21(5)

CK Calvin Klein baby blue jacket $60 (but we only paid $30 cos the cashier made a mistake – woot!)

c21(4)

Margiela distressed leather platform shoes. $200 so ugly and awesome that I had to get it!

C21(3)

Commes des Garcons brocade wool pants $80 <3 how the wide leg fit on me
CK Calvin Klein grandma short-sleeved cardigan $20

c21(2)

CK Calvin Klein navy linen double-breasted jacket $60
CK Calvin Klein brown python leather jacket $60 (but paid only $30 – same mistake)

In Mandarin, we call their behaviour “jiu1 can2 bu4 qing1″ because they were relentless and were literally begging for us to bring them home.

We’re starting to save for the next one!!

O btw, it seriously ought to be only open to those 21 and above. I don’t see why people should tow their babies and kids along to the bazaar cos it’s so crazy and dangerous and terribly irresponsible of them to just leave them with a PSP/Nintendo at a corner to guard their loot. Not sexy!

Back to lazyland for now.

Titanic of a weekend

The Easter weekend is gonna be a busy one for both of us!

_______________

Thursday 9 April & Friday 10 April

Tampines 1
Opens TOMORROW! More retail and gastronomic goodness comes to the East (where neither of us live, but will frequent because of the great new concepts and new brands opening). Check out the Tampines 1 blog here and play the Spring to Life game to win vouchers or a Sony Vaio Notebook!

Uniqlo
Need. We. Say. More. I’m going back on Thursday when it opens. I wanna change one of the pieces that I got on Monday. They’ve got 30 day exchange policy. Unlike most of the super ngiao (miserly) 3 or 7 days that local stores usually give. Isn’t that wonderful? (:

uniqlosurprise

Be sure to get your daily dose of Uniqlo Surprise from here. You might win wallpapers, discount vouchers, or even a trip to Tokyo!

I only got the limited edition wallpaper today… Better luck tomorrow!

_______________

Saturday 11 April &  Sunday 12 April

The Flea Titan @ Mt Sophia
Why Titan? Because this flea promises to be the largest flea market ever (locally??? I’m not sure) as it congregates sellers from Singapore and KL for two afternoons of procurement of (potentially purposeful – if you convince yourself enough for some of the items) paraphernalia.

It will be held at Old School, 7 Mt Sophia. Pretty inaccessible by foot, if you ask me. Mostly due to the presence of never-ending slopes and stairs… but there will be shuttle buses to ferry lazy people (all fingers to Jo) from Plaza Singapura!

More information here.

My sister will be participating in this flea and she’ll be selling lots of delectable delights such as a pair of patent Doc Martens and some secondhand (but still very desirable) items. She kindly volunteered to help me sell some items too, so make sure you go down!

Take a look at what she’ll be selling here.

_______________

Then comes the less-than-savoury part of our weekend: Studying. Sarah’s got examinations and Jo’s got presentations next week. Boo.

This weekend is so much of a Titanic that we had to plan and write it out to sort out our thoughts. Still, we’re eagerly waiting for Fashionation’s Things to Do this Weekend to add to our list! :D

Did I just make you open nearly ten tabs on your browser? Bwahaha. What will you be busy with? (:

Bubbles & Baubles

Spray print cardigan from Silom street market, grey corset tank top from H&M, black denim shorts from Topshop, black v-front flats from Chatuchak weekend market, recycled PVC banner bag by Demano from The Lawn, bauble bubble wrap necklace by 164cm from Siam Square.

Too. Full. For. Full. Sentences. Now.

But here’s what I bought in Bangkok. Some of it. I forgot to add in the 3 shoes and some other stuff.. but yea.

img_1714

I don’t know what’s with the grey/black palette, but I was happy with my buys. All the items I bought averaged 250 baht, which is about SGD10, or USD15.

Sadly I got only one item from Greyhound, which I am too lazy to put up ):

img_1719

These, I felt, were the most interesting of my buys. Cotton neck pieces with bubble wrap!

Absolutely addictive to pop, perfectly safe for the wash (!) and so cute to wear.

img_1726

Here’s what I bought for my boyfriend. 17 year old Japanese single malt whisky, white shirt with polo knit collar and cuffs, checked shirt with hoodie and a t-shirt. Guys stuff are sooo expensive.

And because I’m still recovering from my CNY food overload, here’s a sloppy shopping guide to Bangkok in local incarnations.

Chatuchak Weekend Market – Mo Chit BTS Station, Chatuchak Park MRT Station
Just like: Haji Lane. Please spend at least one whole day there! Lots to love.

Siam Square, Siam Paragon – Sukhumvit BTS Station, Asok MRT Station
Just like: Far East Plaza with cooler stuff, and Paragon Shopping Mall.

CentralWorld – I think it’s near the Siams
Just like: Suntec City with interesting local designer shops.

Jim Thompson Factory Outlet – On Nut BTS Station
Just like: Kate Spade, but at bargain prices. Good to buy gifts.

Silom Street Market – Silom MRT Station
Just like: nothing you’ll ever find in Singapore. Maybe a bit of Chinatown? Carries more Hong Kong style stuff.

Platinum Mall, Pratunam – I dunno how to get there!
Just like: Run-of-the-mill livejournal blog shops. But mildly interesting if you look hard enough.

Ratchadaphisek Market - Ratchadaphisek MRT Station
Just like: Thieves market? Reccommended by a friend, but I didn’t make it there ):

Suam Lom Night Bazaar – ???
Just like: Bugis Street? Mixture of furniture, clothes, and weird undescribable stuff.

Sam Peng Street Market – ???
Just like: not like anything. Lots of florist supplies, costume jewellry, fake crocs (like the real ones are not bad enough…) That place is supposedly Chinatown.

Ta!

The boyfriend making his first online appearance via FashBash…

… with his coolios trench shirt, complete with a fabric belt and detachable hoodie!

I was too uncool to be published on FashBash. While the Raffles Design Institute Photography Club were taking photos of us I was holding on to my cash invoice to bring on the cashier so that I could redeem my hansel dress. Oooooo excites.

To see more of FashBash’s snappy happy, get clicking!

Meanwhile, FashBash will be back in February 2009 for a flea market kinda event. I think we might get a stall :D

My new year’s resolution is to become sexy like Serena Vanderwoodsen. What’s yours?

Just in case you were wondering how our little garage sale at Sarah’s place went, here are some pictures!

img_4027

Already experiencing dizzying fainting spells from the hot hot hot hot afternoon! That was even before we got to Sarah’s place. We were waiting underneath my apartment for a taxi.

img_4028

img_4030

Don’t we all look like we’re drying out clothes? But those are actually our booths :D Cute, no?

img_4031

Eager beaver sister that’s my stall assistant for the day :D She sold some of her stuff too!

img_4035

My boyfriend got stuck in the toilet and attempted to climb out through the window. I think it’s his soldier instincts getting the better of him, HAHA.

img_4036

img_4037

Pinks (who is Sarah, but I prefer to call her Pinks) going a little nuts with her wares. Those nautical leggings are SO CUTE but they’ll only fit you if your waist is 20″.

img_4046

Friends and mad boyfriends :D

img_4047

img_4048

Very very tired.

I sold quite some stuff, but am still experiencing a deficit because I kept volunteering discounts to people -_- I’m too nice HAHHAHAH.

Anyway. Here’s a shoutout to the 2 UWC girls who came super duper early and grabbed many many goodies. Sorry we didn’t catch your name but we’d love to see pictures of you guys in what you bought!

If anyone is interested in the items that we sold, we’ll put up a separate post or blog for us to sell our stuff.

See you at the next garage sale! :D
