Today was a rather sad day… It started out quite good because the weather was good, and I was feeling comfortably warm in the office (you know the cold-but-wanna-be-swathed-warmth kinda want?)
But later on I went out and the heat was just SO MAD. I was perspiring out of EVERY, SINGLE, PORE in my body.
And the pants that I wore, wore into itself a ginormous hole about 10cm wide, right at the crotch. I only discovered when I went to the washroom, but not sure when I got it. Could have been in the washroom! Had to do a ridiculous cover-up with my cardigan and scurried to Zara to buy some salvation pants.
ALSOOOOO my bed has been taken over by bed bugs or something because over the past week I’ve been getting weird bites at random parts of my body… and now my legs look even uglier.

Ruffle front knit vest from Bysi, heather grey ribbed tank from Cotton On, fleece tie-front bermudas from Zara, wedges from Eastpoint Mall
Disgusting yellow background for disgusting humid sticky-icky weather, and mandatory sad face. But my fingers wanted to be happy…
(B t w (each letter pronounced ala Blair Waldorf), I didn’t wear those heels to work. I wore some un-loved pair of flats which I thought would be kinder on my feet.. but today is just not a be-kind-to-jo day)
):

The stupid hole… and the very emphatic victory scars the bed bugs left on my legs. Yes you won.

Bought these pair of wedges over the weekend from Eastpoint Mall for $32! It is a size too small, but wearing the 39 is just as painful as wearing the 38 (lol) so I just bought the 38 since the largest size for grey was 38 and I kinda haven’t graduated to wearing pink wedges.

I can do a spread in L’Officiel for you!

I grew up thinking Club 21 was literally, a club for 21 year olds and above.. So in line with that ridiculous thought of mine I harboured throughout my secondary school years, I stepped into that awesomeness that is Club 21 in my 21st year of existence. ( No it’s not my birthday yet)
My boyfriend and I lost our Club 21 virginities to the mad bazaar over the weekend. I don’t know why we never made it to the previous one.
Here are some of the things that tried to chat us up, shamelessly assaulted, and clung on to us as we tried to escape the F1 pit unscathed.
(We swear we didn’t do anything! We’re innocent!)

Emporio Armani brocade skirt $150

Giorgio Armani jacket with weird sleeves and jellyfishy front $400?!?!?!
CK Calvin Klein skirt in a lovely fabric but I STUPIDLY DECIDED NOT TO GET $30 WTHWTHWTH!@#(!(@*U$!(@

DKNY Satin Bomber Jacket. Softest. Shiz. Ever. $??

Comme des Garcons gold glitter wool pants $100
They were really cute, but were in a thick sticky wool material that I foresee lots of rashes and discomfort in.

CK Calvin Klein silk jersey dresses $30 wthwthwthwthwhthhhh!!!!! and $20 on the last day. But I decided they didn’t look as nice on me as it would have on a nice skinny person, or without a person wearing it at all haha.

D&G corduroy and leather trim jacket $650. We were hoping it would be further discounted on the last day, but nooooo. Sigh.
D&G double layered wool jacket $650.
He didn’t like the stuff from D&G in general, so he looked very hard to find something he liked from D&G haha.
Y’s white shirt with side vents $180
Here’s what went home with us:

CK Calvin Klein baby blue jacket $60 (but we only paid $30 cos the cashier made a mistake – woot!)

Margiela distressed leather platform shoes. $200 so ugly and awesome that I had to get it!

Commes des Garcons brocade wool pants $80 <3 how the wide leg fit on me
CK Calvin Klein grandma short-sleeved cardigan $20

CK Calvin Klein navy linen double-breasted jacket $60
CK Calvin Klein brown python leather jacket $60 (but paid only $30 – same mistake)
In Mandarin, we call their behaviour “jiu1 can2 bu4 qing1″ because they were relentless and were literally begging for us to bring them home.
We’re starting to save for the next one!!
O btw, it seriously ought to be only open to those 21 and above. I don’t see why people should tow their babies and kids along to the bazaar cos it’s so crazy and dangerous and terribly irresponsible of them to just leave them with a PSP/Nintendo at a corner to guard their loot. Not sexy!
Back to lazyland for now.

Just proof that I’m still alive:

Bow front top from Baylene, studded belt from Target, dark wash denim from Uniqlo.
I’ve been
- very inspired but lazy
- putting on weight
- going to Baylene a lot to snap up their clothes. Their prices have been reduced reduced reduced again! (O btw pinks – your black dress is on 30% + 50% off!)
- going to work.. I’m an intern now!
- going straight home after work… and doing nothing in particular
- waiting patiently for the Great Singapore Sale. There’s no better time to spend your money.
- waiting patiently for the Club 21 Bazaar Sale happening this weekend!
- procrastinating..
But at least I made it here today (:

Shopping online is not exactly Sarah and I’s forte, because we fear ill-fitting garments, ficticious sellers, ridiculous shipping prices and just downright dirty quality.
Prabjote from Sophistix came to tell us about Sophistix’s Shop-by-Outfit option which allows you to browse paired garments to save you time, money and brain juice on a lazy day.
It is a nice idea, (especially the money saving part) and we offered to come up with our own outfit for Sophistix!

Sarah chose the Amanda vest set and Dora Skirt.
When the pieces arrived we were pleasantly surprised because the quality was far from crummy. The hems were neat, no loose threads.. They were made of soft, wearable cotton. It wasn’t the kind you get in many online shops – unknown stiff material used as an excuse for cloth. (Doesn’t that icky material get to you? It doesn’t feel nice and doesn’t fall nicely!)

And unlike other online shops the clothes are all tagged “Sophistix” – a nice touch for such affordable clothing. (You’d usually get clothes with no label tag, no size tag, and are of unknown origin.)
Things we appreciate about the website
- The pieces were photographed well to show the appropriate details.
- The pieces were photographed from multi-angles
- There are many many many sizes available
- While there is a general size chart, each garment also has individual measurements from XS-XXL. This allows you to compare the item you fancy to one that you already have and fits well.
We both found stuff we loved and worked into our wardrobes, and we’re sure you would too!
Jo’s outfit coming up!

Coloured stripes tee from Uniqlo, random black skinny scarf, bubble wrap accessory from 164cm in Siam Square Bangkok, long skinny studded belt from Giordano Concepts, pleat front pants from Giordano Ladies, patent pleather/suede jazz flats from Poco Poco in Chatuchak Weekend Market, Bangkok
I’ve been wanting a pair of pants that I can wear for formal presentations and all that shiz in school, and also wear on a day to day basis without looking like an office lady who wears black pants with everything.
I’ve been like a vulture stalking Baylene’s past season stock of pants. I must have tried ALL of the designs available but they all fit weirdly at the crotch.. I think it has to do with the flat front.
Simple equation. No flat tummy + fat thighs = no go for flat front pants.
It took me ages to find these but I’m glad I took so long. I bought these pair of pleat front pants from Giordano Ladies on a 50% discount for $80. I’ve been wearing them for 2 days straight because I love how they fit and feel. (O no I’m becoming an office lady)
Anyway. Just a little post to say that I’m working towards a wardrobe made of pieces I really really love! What the_kitten said in this post made me pretty psyched!
Sarah just added a pair of shoes she really really loves to her wardrobe. I’ve never heard her talk so much (or act so swiftly!) about a pair of shoes.
Sure I’ll only be added pieces that I really really love.. but should I be detoxing the wardrobe too? Would you?

I am hardly capable of any mischief… really. I never skipped school, I never played pranks (not even on April’s Fool Day), I never retorted to what any teacher had to say, I never snuck out of the house…
But I have a pair of pants that do! They like to get some hanky panky on.

Short at the sides, long at the front and back, low waisted, very roomy, very wide-legged.

Don’t I look like an apparition in a murky room that needs salvation?
If I’m not wrong, they’re called handkerchief pants by Hansel, and you probably can tell from the square shape it makes when held up in the second photo. I got them for $15 at a sale at felt last year. Steal!
If I could dance, I’d wear them to jazz or lyrical practice. But because I can’t, I would jump, but I can’t jump today because I’m achy from trying out yoga on youtube.
(I look like an elephant doing it compared to the instructor in the video.. If you do yoga, you’d know that there’s a pose called downward-facing down where you make a triangle with your butt in the air and hands and feet on the floor. I looked in the mirror and it looked more like a trapezium! Whatever that shape I was supposed to do.. Sigh.)
Last day at school tomorrooooooow!
