Thought I’d just share these event photos that were given to us. The next few weeks are kind of crazy with project deadlines upon me and plans for WC kicking up a notch. Crazy busy AND Crazy excited for everything that’s coming. (:

Hope your weeks aren’t as crazy too. And if they are…

HANG IN THERE!!!

Thanks Pull and Bear for the present! (:

ok. I’ll come up with more substantial things… eerrrr… soon! (hopefully!)

JO’S FIRST POST IN A MONTH

Just in case you were thinking that I’m gone, here’s some narcissistic photographic evidence of my lurking around:

P1000466

P1000468

P1000469

Here am I at The Lawn in Wheelock Place with a super cute tank-cum-backpack that I felt was not worthy of its price tag during pre-procurement. But when I decided that I liked it enough, not only was the tankpack gone, the entire store was gone!!!!!!!111

While I haven’t got anything substantial to say, like how I loved that Prada departed from their scarily-styled collection of stern wool things (yes, things), rough-cut rubber soled velvet pumps and obscene fishing waders for Fall (though it’s in stores now… but that doesn’t bother me because I never step into Prada anway). I know how some of you lurvveddd it but er, yes that’s all I have to say :D

On hindsight, is that even something substantial? Hmm.

Sarah and I have been inordinately busy with work and school, even though we’re supposed to be having summer holidays, with a week or two left till the new school term starts. And following a long, busy day is always a bout of acute laziness.

My Macbook has been temporarily decommissioned because the harddisk drive decided to go into coma on a whim one day while I was just loading my thirteenth tab on Firefox. I have yet to get it fixed. Went to Sapura to get it checked but they weren’t able to retrieve any data so I decided not to change the harddisk yet.

So that kinda leaves me with 159 unread mails in my personal email account, probably another 100 in my school email account, 597 unread posts in my Google reader, and a very unexciting, unhappening Facebook profile.

(O btw, any reccommendations for cheap and good data recovery? Cheap and good shouldn’t be such a ready collocation.)

This is the most exciting thing that I’ve done for wottoncool so far – what I think is a pretty cool but difficult-to-decipher drawing for our name card! :D

WCfront

It reads: 100% WOTTONCOOL
BUT MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF
ART, DESIGN, FASHION,
MUSIC, STUFF, ETC.

And with all the usual name card jazz at the back.

Probably a little difficult to read, especially if you’re over 50 or am short or long sighted (I tested it on various individuals, lol), if not you’re probably like me, haha!

Do you like idzzzzz? I haven’t drawn anything in so so long.

Okay see you next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kidding.

Apologies for the lack of posts. Feeling very guilty for not updating more frequently and being VERY backlogged with entries (:

Jo’s computer is still down. /:

and Sarah is back from camp (yet again and only temporarily)!

Anyway, wanted to share this uber random fact: At these recent spate of camps I’ve been organizing, I have just been assigned a new responsibility that wasn’t in my original job description…

Me + Powder + Killer Makeup Artist + Old Sheet = …

resident ghost

I am now one of the resident ghosts of camp. /:

Quite some time ago, Zhiqiang from TraiT tagged us.

Here are the tagging rules:
1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules in your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.’
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers’ blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Jo’s list

Quirk #1: I must stay on the left whenever I’m on the escalator, on two way traffic (be it pedestrian or vehicles) and whatever else there is. I make the people I’m with stay on the left as well, even if there is no one behind on the escalator. I get really annoyed when you have two way traffic on walkways or escalators and they make you keep on the right instead. They’re screwing around with our minds! ):

Quirk #2: I’m very particular about how I eat my pasta – it’s either spaghetti or penne (if I have a choice – it’s the short straight ones with a hole). When I eat spaghetti, I twirl a few strands up with my fork, transfer it to my spoon, then eat it. When I eat spaghetti, I only eat with a fork, and I eat two pieces (do you call it pieces?) at a time. One pasta goes through two tines of the fork (if the fork has four tines).

Quirk #3: I cannot wink. Period.

Quirk #4: I cannot cut my food with my knife in my right hand, but I don’t like to pick up food with my left hand either. That means when I eat stuff like steak, I’m always changing cutlery between my two hands. I think I’ll fail dining etiquette class haha.

Quirk #5: I arrange all my clothes by type – tops (basics and dressy), outerwear (cardigans and heavy jackets), dresses (casual to evening), bottoms (shorts and long ones),  belts, hosiery and underwear. Then i arrange them by colour within the type. Light colours – blue, green, cream, white, yellow. Dark colours – grey, black, black, black, black, navy, brown, black. And if there are enough pieces, by print within the colour – checks, stripes etc. I think I got this from working part time in a boutique.

Quirk #6: I love eggs. I love them runny and I often add too much dark soy sauce to it.

Sarah’s list

Quirk #1: When i study, my colour markers MUST be arranged in gradient (purple, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo). looking at it makes me smile, cos it makes me happy to see a rainbow in front of me, which gives me some motivation to study.

Quirk #2: I am addicted to vicks. As a child, I’d hide those metal-cap bottles just so I can convince my mom to buy more :D I have it beside my computer now.

Quirk #3: When my friends and I painted banners for school in 2006, even though the banner was 4mx4m and 3mx6m, I only allowed them to used 0.5cm-width brushes to paint. Fuzzy lines are UNACCEPTABLE! Which prompted one of them to proclaim “I dont paint with toothpicks!”

Quirk #4: I don’t eat egg unless its scrambled. The texture of egg white and egg yolk makes me shudder. If i bite into egg unexpectedly (in popiah or curry puffs) i have to spit it out. It’s so unusual to have a food that is so white and so yellow in a combination.

Quirk #5: I feel that polka dots belong on underwear and underwear ONLY!!!

Quirk #6: I walk very very fast.

Feel free to tag yourself! haha.

These are a few of my favourite things

These are A FEW? of my favourite things?

I was looking up some photographs when I found Jeong Mee Yoon’s “The Pink Project”. Yoon was inspired by her 5-year-old daughter’s love for pink and decided to photograph all of her daughter’s favourite pink objects – be it toys, books or stationery. She went on to photograph other parents’ daughters and sons together with their favourite items.

Photos from artnet.com

W. O. W. these kids sureee are lucky. They boys even have a hint of smug on their faces! I like spending money and shopping for myself, but I love buying/making gifts too. But having a kid is like, buying stuff for one whole other person! How will I bear to spend thattt much! I can’t imagine.

But why the pink for girls and blue for boys? What about all the colours in between! You know how infants have their photographs taken right after they’ve popped out, the girls are always in pink and the boys are always in blue, and all the gifts from friends and relatives are all colour coded.

When I have my own kids, I want colours like magenta, plum, lime green, canary yellow and all the other yummy colours.

Actually, I need all these colours in my cupboard now.

I put all my clothes into to cupboard, one consists of all the clothes with black and dark colours, the other with white and light colours.

You will see that I am in dire need of a wardrobe detox when I put up pictures, haha.

I think if I laid out all my favourites they’d form a very depressing grayscale. When I have an option of colour/print v black/white, I usually opt for the latter thinking it’ll be easier to match. Hell yea, now I have a lot of things in the same colour to match.

But it’s okay, I will stock up on PRINTS and BRIGHT HAPPY COLOURS on my trip to Hong Kong, in EXACTLY A WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOO.
