WOTTONCOOL

Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2009

Miu Miu makes it back to earth with this collection that explores old Europe. Her previous collections were kinda in their own world – remember the diving suits of Fall 2008 and the very theatrical Spring 2008 collections?

Tasteful, straggly ripped silk( ! how preposterously cool!) and burlap in dresses and skirts, frays and pleats. Mmm.

The prints hint at glorious paintings and mosaic, then after all that you get dashes of.. spray paint?

Pleated apron skirts seem easy enough to replicate! (read DIY DIY DIY!) The varying lengths and contrasting print fabric is very yummy.

They can go over just about everything! Mini skirts, pencil skirts, A-line skirts, frilly skirts, tiered skirts, dresses, culottes, high waist, low waist, spam spam spam!

Go get some fabric, or a gunny-sack now!

Have you seen this? 🙂 http://the-coveted.com/blog/2008/10/06/the-whole-hearted-half-skirt/

You don’t even need to sew the apron to the ‘main’ skirt! Very versatile!

joyce oo i haven’t seen it – thanks the heads up! it’s an interesting and simple diy thing, i’d love to try it, but i wanna try making the apron skirt thing as well heh heh. i’ll try and use as little sewing as possible cos i’m not very good at it anyway!

maybe you should use a uber long belt that goes round you twice. then you can ‘catch’ the second skirt.
