Every Chinese New Year, you have to put up with lots of stuff.
Crowds, weird relatives, fully booked nail parlours, hairdressers, restaurants… yada yada yada. That’s a whole lot of bull, isn’t it? (ooo almost clever pun! I know almost all of us have used the niu thing. We must stop now.)
Okay rant over.
I’ve been wearing stripes for CNY two years in a row. Striped dresses – to be exact. This one is from Soon Lee (very auspicious name btw, for all you unknowing readers) (:
Dress: Black and white striped dress with ruffles from Soon Lee
Shoes: Square-toed car print block heels from Nue
Bag: Black clutch from Accessorize
On my boyfriend,
Top: Asymmetrical striped shirt from nicholas
Bottom: Black tapered pants from Grey Homme (officially his favourite place to shop)
Shoes: Navy boat shoes from Sperry Top Sider
Scarf: Knitted by my aunt for me
Bag: totally random
I don’t know if this was a bit of an overkill – I wore the dress with my black and white striped heels by hansel, and carried a striped paper bag for oranges too for the next day. Oops!
Happy New Year! Hopefully there are more occasions for ang pow collecting for all of us (:
