Dine Out

This month has been peppered with formal dinner functions to attend.

With by-the-book dress codes of mostly formal and smart casual and a full knowing that powerful people will be present at these events, instruction from the top has been to err on the side of caution and dress safely (aka personality-less)

*insert sad face here*

Anyways…

Usually, these drop crotch pants are left for lazy days and paired with slippers/sandals/comfort shoes.

Instead after a stuffy high-brow dinner event, changed into this ensemble and stayed in school till 2.30am in the morning (the usual, y’knw).

Jil Sander for Uniqlo shirt, Drop-croth pants from Cambodia, Silver heels from Guess.

Unexpectedly liked this pairing of drop-crotch pants with heels, will attempt to rock similar looks over the next 2 weeks or so. Stay tuned! (:

But that is also not to say that the dinners have been completely un-fun.

I was one of the privileged five representatives selected from school to attend a Chinese New Year reception dinner held at the Istana.

There was at least 50 tables in this huge tent with a respectable buffet spread of carrot cake, beef, fruits, yu sheng and free-flow of drinks.

My friends and I sat with the Bishan East GRC contingent and were 2 tables away from the VIPs, MM Lee Kuan Yew, SM Goh Chok Tong and PM Lee Hsien Loong. That was quite exciting.

And at the end of the evening, we took the time to take photos since this was a new experience for all of us. In contrast with everyone else who kinda rushed off.

(Excuse the deer-in-headlights face. Camera flash too bright.) hehes.
