Lunch with Sony Ericsson

Today, I had the opportunity to have lunch with some of the people at Sony Ericsson.

And over lunch they showed Dinie and I their Xperia and Vivaz series. Some products have been on the market for a bit like the Xperia X10,

while others were fresh releases. Meet Xperia X8.

‘Prototype’ woahx!

Basically, these 2 series of smart phones use the Android platform. As a result, anything Google-related is seamlessly integrated for your convenience! Gmail. Youtube. Maps. Chat. (Google sometimes scares me with regard to how MASSIVE it is) That being said, they didn’t leave out Twitter and Facebook, like who can live without?! duh!

In addition to a lot of oogling and demonstrating the new functions. We had a stab at fiddling with the phones. Above – I’m holding an Xperia X10 mini pro. Below – are the coloured covers for the Xperia X10 mini. (Only the ‘pro’s have the slide-out qwerty keypad)

My favourite of the lot, though, was the Vivaz pro (in black). (: Qwerty keypad FTW!!!

But actually the phone has the best of both worlds. Its got a 3.2 inch touchscreen as well as a qwerty keypad.

Another very awesome feature is the camera – bordering an unassuming, yet respectable 5.1 megapixels, the camera is also enabled with HD recording capabilities and continuous auto-focus. The resulting videos are un-fuzzy and crisp as cucumber! 😀 (no, its not the actual simile, but I don’t care) hehs.

In addition, there is a feature called face recognition. The camera assists you in auto-tagging (HOW AWESOME IS THAT PLS?! To Facebook – please have this feature too!) So once you’ve tagged a friend, the phone will automatically search through the photos and tag your friend on your behalf. Isn’t that so freakishly cool?! 😀

Ok. Its official. I (not-so-secretly) would like this phone.

The Vivaz pro (in black!) ❤
