Lanvin for H&M needing more love in Japan

The fashion community waited with baited breathe when news first broke about the H&M and Lanvin collaboration. And there was near pandemonium when the collection was first available for purchase online, overloading the server bandwidth and all the technical schzam that I shan’t frazzle my fringe in.

On my recent trip to Tokyo, I was shocked but sadistically overjoyed to see a contented shopper leaving the Ginza district outlet with her very own ‘H&M ❤ Lanvin’ bag tucked under her slender arm. Closer investigations into the store confirmed my hunch as I found signature pieces lined obediently in rows, awaiting my thorough inspection.

Usual suspects were present – overpriced accessories and shoes that would eat your heart for dessert. But, rather unexpectedly, high rollers such as the signature red tulle tutu dress and yellow ruffle toga dress were also rounded up in this raid.

Conversations in the interrogation room did not reveal much and without a confession, I found it hard to post bail for this baby. But if you are convinced of her innocence, by all means, Japan still has sizes!

This December will be my first time at the land of the rising sun. I am beyond myself in excitement to see, hear, smell, taste, feel, live and experience Tokyo first-hand.

And because I’m an absolute noob, I’m wondering do you have any recommendations??? 😀

There are a few reasons why I love Uniqlo. Among them is how affordable, wearable, well-made and innovative the clothes are.

And for a new reason, devastatingly beautifully repackaged and coming soon to a Uniqlo near you…

…the hot-bodied, curly-haired, super-suave male in Orlando Bloom typifying the Japanese brand’s pledge to be “Made for All” – more affordable, wearable, well-made and innovative clothes for us mall rats.

I can’t wait to see more of him with Charlize Theron. I remember when Utt was the face of Giordano in the early 00’s – I lingered outside the stores and gazed into this larger-than-life eyes. Now, I will do anything for my Legolas…

Summer Mags

You know it’s summer, or it’s June, when the magazine stands are strewn with strings of words like “BEST BIKINI BUYS”, “THE SWIMSUIT ISSUE”, “WHERE TO SPEND YOUR SUMMER” blah blah blah…

I don’t really like those bikini spreads.

I don’t really like being in the sun. I’m quite fair, I can never get a tan no matter how long I stay in the sun, I only turn red and peel. That hurts. Also, I’m not anywhere near Angelina Jolie or Cameron Diaz’s shape, so even if those spreads have figure specific reccomendations, chances are girls like me will still end up looking like carelessly swaddled lumps of flesh.

Point is, I got two magazines – Nylon Japan and ViVi (Asian Edition) to tide me over this month of bikini bombardment.

From the looks of it, Japan seems to be quite preoccupied with gladiator sandals!

Like Vogueite, I am getting a bitttt tired of seeing gladiator sandals around. But those floral heeled sandals really appeal to me!

I love those lace trimmed navy blue shorts in the last picture! I shall see if I can modify any of my shorts 😀

I’m more accustomed to the clean, neat, but stylish layouts that most local magazines subscribe to, but I’m completely intrigued by the messy, chaotic, cutouts, intermingling text and pictures just makes me want moreeee.
