Hansel’s new home

Walking into hansel’s new home in Mandarin Gallery #02-14 is kinda like walking into a fantasy dollhouse. Incredibly made up with everything hand-drawn, it’s cute and kitschy, but so well executed, grown women who are really adoring fans of the 7-year-old label buy the heartfelt effort hook, line and sinker.

The floor-to-ceiling sharpie on paper drawings and props make you wanna linger, and try just about everything on the sales floor, especially pieces from the current season, which you saw here.

My favourite of all – a long-sleeved laced sweater priced at S$129, also available in a sleeveless top and short-sleeved dress. Love the contrasting black and cream! I’m thinking if it were to be all cream, it might be granny, not girly.

Annddd….. The ballooons!!!!!!!!! They’re stuck to the ceiling!!!!!!! How cute is thatt????????

Sigh. I wanna redecorate my room like that, just that nothing really functions.

Also in store are adorable knick-knacks like eyeglasses cards and yummy accessories set on exquisite hand-drawn paper silverware.

Like Laila of Rock the Trend tweeted, hansel is kinda like Singapore’s Moschino – quirky and girly all at the same time. You can see that in designer, Jo Soh herself, and her fans as well!

From left to right, myself, Qin (Qin at the Disco), X-wen (Fash Eccentric), and Dottie (D for Dot) (who was also guest-tweeting for Mandarin Gallery that night).

Sooo here’s my suggested itinerary for this weekend: First to Mandarin Gallery for Hansel, then to Topshop Knightsbridge just across the road. Yeap that should busy you for most of the afternoon. Don’t bring your boyfriend along, unless he’s very patient and also The One… who pays for your shopping! 😛

Lily the Lady

Happy Sunday to you! Hope your weekend has been well so far… anyway,

Have you met Lily? Oh no? Here let me introduce. Apparently she’s always in lace and eye glasses (see that layered lace capelet??), which is cute and alluring. But I’m kinda more interested in the non-lace pieces that she wears.

Like these diagonal-striped cardigans and cardigan-dresses that are actually in a zig-zag print. Looks awesome under some solid khaki.

The lace, eyeglasses and the whole collection will be at hansel’s birthday party at their new home in Mandarin Gallery. You could join us at the party if you join our giveaway, right here!

Try your luck

Some worthy draws for your perusal, because I’m feeling quite chuffed and a tad lucky today.

In Puma’s 2010 Holiday Campaign, you get to play predator by navigating with your cursor to one year’s sponsorship of Puma Gear worth $2000 here.

And, this might be the only time you’d ever want to be prey too. Put on some Puma, plant yourself at the following locations, and be spotted by their roving wolf over the next three weekends to get some yummy store discounts.

26 Nov 2010: Vivocity | Clarke Quay | Butter Factory
4 Dec 2010: Far East Plaza | Cineleisure | Scape
10 Dec 2010: Emerald Hill | Zouk

What Mandarin Gallery is giving away for their anniversary draw is Two Good To Be True! but also, very true. Win two suave BMWs or $50,000 cash simply by dropping some moolah at their shops, from now till 26 January 2011. For example, getting these Markus Lupfer sequinned sweaters from Tribeca will give you quite a few chances and put you in good stead of the draw. Details here.

Good luck! And make sure no one’s tapping your shoulder!

Moreover, late night shoppers also stand a chance of receiving gain gift vouchers for Mandarin Gallery that night!

Also, for one night only, along with bloggers Miss Glitzy, OneSixtyNotepad, Rock The Trend and Story Of A Dot,

Wottoncool will be blogging ‘live‘ from:

Friday, 4 June 2010. 9pm to 12 midnight

It’sssss a one-man-operation at wottoncool this week, and just to make it that much more exciting (read: mad hectic), everyone decides to have hold TDF (to-die-for – if you had to read this you don’t watch Rachel Zoe enough hahahaha 😛 I kid, I kid..), must-go events this weekend.

Here are some places that I’ll be popping by..

First up, a fashion/music/art/design event called Summary: A Design Delegation, with lots of interesting names, happening on Thursday.

Local label, Trioon‘s black and red opening at Mandarin Gallery. Her latest collection is <3.

A new G-Star Raw store concept store is opening in ION Orchard. (anyone else here thinks that concept store is kinda overused? Why don’t you just say it’s a thought bubble of desirable material possessions? concept – thought bubble, geddit geddditttt? okay not funny..)

I just bought a pair of G-star denims a month ago. (Remember my Denim Dream?) They’re cool… but not killa enough. I hope no new items in the new store fits me and looks awesome on me because I don’t want to spend any money! Christmas brokeness settling in early this year.

Then… there’s a new Forever21 flagship store disembarking in 313 Somerset. FOUR storeys, I hear. FOUR storeys just spell madness and chaos. I can’t wait.

If you find that you need to be in another mind-numbingly scary crowd, you can head down to UNIFEM’s Buy-to-Save 2009 at InterContinental Singapore on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm. Here’s a sneak preview!

There’s alldressedup, Chanel, Armani, Etro, Fendi, DVF, everything! All towards a good cause of putting violence against women to an end. Buy buy buy.

Yes, all this is happening this weekend. Okay now you need to save up all your lunch and dinner money to shop this weekend!
